Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This legislation allows school boards to impose educational development impact fees. The school board is required to prepare and submit a report and an educational development impact fee schedule to the county. The county has 60 days to provide written comment back to the school board. Counties and cities will be required to collect the educational development impact fee for the school board at the time that the building permit fee is collected. The county or city may retain up to 3% of the fee to cover adminsitrative costs before forwarding the remainder to the school board. |
